The blue tang and clown fish can be found throughout the Indo-Pacific. It is easily spotted in the Great Barrier Reef of Australia. The Saving Nemo Conservation Fund (Australia) estimates that some 400,000 blue tang are collected each year from the wild, and over 1 million clownfish. The good news is that clown fish can be easily bred in captivity, unlike blue tangs where 100% are taken from the wild for the aquarium pet trade.
